Small black dot accents are scattered across the pink field, quiet marks that give the surface movement and depth.
The diamond is one of the most enduring forms in Amazigh weaving, drawn from the mountain peaks of the Atlas range that have defined the Berber visual landscape for centuries. Concentric outlines around the central diamond reflect the Berber understanding of protection, one boundary within another, each line a layer of shelter around the home. The dot accents scattered across the field are a quiet mark left by the weaver, like seeds planted across open earth, a motif found in Berber textiles across the Atlas region.
