This is a mustard and blue Beni Ourain rug, hand-knotted in our workshop in Morocco. The composition is divided into three distinct horizontal zones, each one carrying its own pattern and energy. The upper field is filled with a dense diamond lattice in warm mustard over a soft blue-grey ground, the lines crossing and connecting in a continuous interlocking grid. A bold horizontal band of blue and mustard vertical stripes cuts through the center, marking a clear transition. The lower field opens into a looser arrangement of vertical mustard lines and rounded dot forms against the ivory ground, the pattern breathing out toward the fringe.
The diamond lattice in the upper field draws from the woven screens and carved plasterwork of Moroccan architecture, forms that filter light and divide space in the traditional riads and medinas of the Atlas region. The horizontal dividing band reflects the Amazigh tradition of marking the rug field into distinct zones, each section its own territory, each color carrying meaning. The dot forms in the lower field are a quiet mark of the weaver, like seeds planted across open earth, a motif found in Berber textiles across the Atlas region. White hand-knotted fringe finishes both ends.
Why you'll love it:

- Warm mustard and blue-grey diamond lattice, stripe band, and dot border pattern.
- Custom sizes available, woven to order in 3 to 5 weeks.
- Ships worldwide in 4 to 7 business days.
- DDP shipping included (no extra customs fees, duty-free delivery).
Made entirely by hand on a traditional loom. No machines, no shortcuts. Every knot tied by a skilled artisan, every row built one thread at a time. Natural wool softens with use, becoming more itself the longer it is lived with.
Pairs beautifully with warm wood, natural linen, and any interior that welcomes a bold mix of warm and cool tones.
Slight color variation is natural in hand-dyed wool. Questions are always welcome.
