The diamond is the oldest mark in Berber weaving. Here it covers the entire field, line after line of overlapping lozenges drawn in black across a warm beige ground, quiet enough to disappear into a room and structured enough to hold the whole thing together. The pile does the rest: thick, dense, and cloud-soft in a way that photographs can suggest but only bare feet fully understand.
This is a tufted Beni Ourain, which means the pile reaches a depth that a flat-woven rug simply cannot match. The close-up tells the story plainly: each tuft is a small, rounded curl of natural wool, packed tightly enough to hold its shape under daily use while remaining soft enough to sink into. The knotted fringe at both ends is edged with a fine black-dotted border that holds the composition together without adding weight.

Why you'll love it:

- Authentic Beni Ourain tufted rug, handmade by Berber artisans in Morocco
- 100% Natural wool, extra deep pile, exceptionally soft underfoot
- Classic black diamond lattice on a warm beige ground
- Custom sizes available, woven to order in 3 to 5 weeks.
- Ships worldwide in 4 to 7 business days.
- DDP shipping included (no extra customs fees, duty-free delivery).

Made by hand on a traditional loom in our workshop in Morocco. No machines, no synthetics. Every knot tied by hand, every row woven one thread at a time. Natural wool gets better with age, softer the more it is lived with.
The beige and black palette is the original Beni Ourain combination, which means it belongs almost anywhere. It sits as easily under a raw-edge wood dining table as it does in a bedroom or a living room anchored around a low sofa and natural light.
Slight variations in color and texture are natural in handmade wool. We're always happy to answer your questions.
