Three bold black stripes run along both long sides as a vertical border, and a horizontal band of the same black stripes runs across the top and bottom edges. At each corner where the borders meet, a bold gold square anchors the composition, giving the piece a strong, considered frame. The pile depth and wool quality give this rug a presence underfoot that is immediately felt, a true luxury piece.
The Mrirt rug tradition comes from the Middle Atlas region of Morocco, where Berber weavers are known for their exceptionally deep pile and bold, graphic compositions.
