This is an orange and white Mrirt tufted rug, made by hand in our workshop in Morocco. A deep, saturated orange fills the entire field in a luxuriously thick plush pile, cut through by bold white lines that weave and turn across the surface in a continuous labyrinthine pattern. The lines branch and double back, forming angular channels and enclosed shapes that cover the rug from edge to edge without repeating. The pile is exceptionally deep and soft underfoot, the kind of texture that transforms a room the moment it is walked on.
The Mrirt rug tradition comes from the Middle Atlas region of Morocco, where Berber weavers are known for their exceptionally deep pile and bold, large-scale compositions. The labyrinthine pattern draws from the ancient Amazigh tradition of embedding the architecture of the medina into the rug field, the winding streets and passageways of the Berber city translated into wool, a map of communal life rendered in a single continuous line. The deep orange ground draws from the sun-baked terracotta walls and Atlas soil of the Moroccan countryside, a color central to the Berber built landscape for generations. White hand-knotted fringe finishes both ends.

Made by hand in our Moroccan workshop, every tuft placed with care and intention. No synthetic materials, no shortcuts. Natural wool softens with use, the deep pile becoming richer and more itself the longer it is lived with.
Works powerfully against white or neutral walls. A luxury statement piece that anchors a large living room with real presence, warmth, and depth underfoot.
Slight color variation is natural in hand-dyed wool. Questions are always welcome.
