This is a sage green and pink Beni Ourain rug, hand-knotted in our workshop in Morocco. A soft, airy sage green fills the entire field in a dense high pile, crossed by fine pink lines that form a large open diamond lattice across the surface. Vertical pink lines descend from the diamond intersections toward the lower edge, giving the composition a architectural quality, structured above and flowing below. The two colors sit together with a natural ease, the green calm and grounded, the pink warm and unexpected.
The diamond lattice in the Amazigh tradition draws from the mountain peaks of the Atlas range that have defined the Berber visual landscape for centuries, the shape appearing in weavings across the region from generation to generation. The vertical lines descending from each diamond intersection echo the rivers and seasonal streams that run down from the Atlas peaks through the valley floors below, lines of movement and life running through the Berber landscape. The fine pink lines drawn across the sage field are kept deliberately light and open, a choice that keeps the composition airy and the green field present throughout. White hand-knotted fringe finishes both ends.
Why you'll love it:
- Authentic Beni Ourain rug, hand-knotted by Berber artisans in Morocco
- High pile, 100% natural wool, no synthetics, no machine finishing
- Soft sage green field with fine pink diamond lattice and vertical line pattern
- Custom sizes available, woven to order in 3 to 5 weeks.
- Ships worldwide in 4 to 7 business days.
- DDP shipping included (no extra customs fees, duty-free delivery).
Made entirely by hand on a traditional loom. No machines, no shortcuts. Every knot tied by a skilled artisan, every row built one thread at a time. Natural wool softens with use, becoming more itself the longer it is lived with.
Pairs beautifully with warm wood, linen, rattan, and blush tones. A natural fit for a bedroom or living room that favors softness and a considered color palette.
Slight color variation is natural in hand-dyed wool. Questions are always welcome.
